Ambassadors
The Ambassador Committee serves as a public relations function for the Chamber and promotes the importance and value of a Chamber of Commerce. With their pulse on the Vernon business community, Ambassadors help the Chamber identify needs to serve its members. Activities Ambassadors get involved with:

- Networking Events
- Annual Golf Tournament and Holiday Open House

Economic Development Committee
Works to assist in preserving the city of Vernon’s economic stability, growth and vitality; and to identify resources and develop programs that foster attraction, retention and growth for the Vernon business community. Meeting the needs of business, this committee leads projects in:
- Local/State/Federal funding opportunities
- Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and Employment and Training Panel (ETP)
- Local employment and training service delivery system
- Entrepreneurial / new business marketing
- Small to mid-size business loan opportunities
- Business expansion
- Business retention & attraction
- Performance tracking and evaluation

Vernon Industrial Committee (VIC)
Representing business on the local level, the mission of the VIC is to promote and defend the pro-business environment that exists in the city of Vernon; promote the continued independence of the city of Vernon; advocate for effective and responsive city government; and to act as a voice for the Vernon industrial community.
The Vernon Industrial Committee works to implement the following core functions:
- Act as the voice of the business community to the City of Vernon
- Develop and steer policy that includes but is not limited to the drafting of position Letters and/or statements, correspondence and action alerts
- Attend City Council meetings and/or meet with appropriate city representatives
- Understand and respond to issues facing city government
- Create sub-committees, special taskforces, events, programs, initiatives and Coalitions as needed with the ability to recruit and equip Chamber business members and non-members to participate in grass-roots activities that may include: letter-writing campaigns, call-to-action phone calls, coalition building and other business advocacy activities
- Research issues that affect Vernon businesses

Vernon Legislative Affairs Committee
The mission of the Vernon Legislative Affairs Committee is to educate the business community, represent the business community in regional, state and national legislative and political affairs, and to promote progress for the business community in the City of Vernon.
The Vernon Legislative Affairs Committee works to implement the following core functions:
- Act as the voice of the business community to governmental entities outside of the City of Vernon
- Open an ongoing relationship with the individuals that represent Vernon in the State Senate and Assembly, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors
- Research legislative issues that affect Vernon businesses
- Develop and steer policy that includes but is not limited to the drafting of position letters and/or statements, correspondence and action alerts
- Meet with legislative representatives as appropriate
- Work with all Chamber members to designate one individual from each company to be that company’s legislative liaison. The duty of the liaison is to be the contact person to whom the Chamber can communicate information about legislation that may have an impact on the company or its employees.
- Work with the company liaison to provide assistance in educating company employees and managers of the consequences of pending legislation, and assist in creating effective lobbying efforts to legislators
- Hold open meetings (breakfasts, etc.) with our elected representatives. The purpose of the meeting is to work toward building a working relationship, as well create a voice for Vernon businesses.

HR Leadership Committee
The HR Leadership Committee is comprised of committed HR professionals who are charged with laying out the Human Resources Roundtable Sessions. The committee identifies the needs of the business community in terms of human resources, suggests programs to meet those needs and helps locate subject matter experts to lead the bi-monthly HR Roundtable Sessions.
